The RF coil is susceptible to corrosion in the torch box, which eventually lowers the conductivity of the coil. The greater the corrosion, the larger amount of energy is needed to produce a plasma of the same power. Coils in a corroded condition, increases the stress applied to other components in the RF generating system, and can shorten the lifetime of your torch. Copper is used as the base material of most commercially available coils but different plating materials are available. Silver has the best conductance & gold the best corrosion resistance. Compatible with PerkinElmer Optima ICP-OES.Optimum nebulizer gas flow rate is 0.7 L/min and sample flow rate is 2.0 mL/min. Recommended not to exceed optimum 2.0 mL/min sample flow rate; however, lower gas and sample flow rates are OK. The backpressure should read approximately 40 psi at 0.7 L/min gas flow rate. Can tolerate up to 20% TDS. Sealed liquid cells have a corrosion-resistant construction, making them ideal for highly volatile samples. Each cell has a precise path length which is calibrated using the interference pattern generated by an empty cell in the beam of a spectrometer.
